How much does the Saber Certificate cost?

Saber was formed in 2019 as part of SASO’s ongoing efforts to work in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030 objectives and as a component of the SALEEM program, which was initiated to ensure a superior level of both product quality and safety.

The SASO created the electronic platform saber to give recipients specific online access to perform the first three procedures:

  1. The registration procedure for goods (both locally manufactured and imported).
  2. applying for the required certificates to allow imported items to be sold in Saudi Arabia.
  3. Identifying the organizations that SASO has approved and choosing one of those organizations to issue the certificate.

The most significant benefit of moving to Saber was that importers could complete the required conformity evaluation utilizing a third party (SASO-certified businesses) in the country of origin and electronically issue the certifications before the shipment arrived at the Saudi ports.

As a result, the necessary certificates can be approved quickly and easily at Saudi ports because they have already been issued. These certificates provide assurance that the products adhere to the necessary technical regulations and standards.

Registration and Processing System for Saber

  1. Create a Saber account for yourself.
  2. Ensure that your shipments are registered with the correct HS code (find the appropriate HS code for each of your imported items, and then register them).
  3. Request a product certificate of conformity (PCOC).

Complete all of your technical files before using the Saber system to send them to the proper notified body.

  1. Complete the documentation necessary to certify your package (SCOC).

You should then perform a thorough examination of the business invoice and apply for a saber certificate (SCOC) to gain access to the Saudi market via the customs authorities.

Certification of Conformity for the Product (PCoC)

The PCoC is necessary for imported regulated products that adhere to technical regulations as a result of SASO providing a list of the technical requirements that encompass products that call for conformity assessment and issuing the product certificate. This is true for goods that must adhere to technical specifications.

The importer must choose an entity through Saber that has been authorized by the SASO certification organization to conduct the conformity evaluation and give the certificate.

Acknowledgment of Self-Declaration (Self-Declaration)

Any product that is not regulated and is not subject to any technical constraints must submit a self-declaration, regardless of whether it was made locally or imported.

The maker of the importer is the one that submits the application to get it through Saber and is in charge of making sure the item complies with Saudi laws.

Shipments’ Certificate of Authenticity and Conformity (SCoC)

For both controlled and unregulated imported goods, the SCoC must be submitted in order to complete the clearing process.

In the event of regulated imported goods, it can only be issued after the product certificate has been approved. In the event of non-regulated imported goods, it can only be issued once the self-declaration has been issued.

Who is Eligible to Submit a Saber Certificate Application?

The only organizations qualified to have a Saber account and thereafter apply for certifications are importers and local manufacturers with a Saudi commercial registration because registering for a Saber account is necessary before any certificate can be provided.

In addition to our additional services in the several certificates needed to join the Saudi and Gulf markets, The Markek guarantees an expert service to conduct the conformity evaluation and issue the certificate.

How Much Does It Cost to Get a Certificate of Conformity?

With the exception of certificates that are identical to those issued by the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO), which are free to register, conformance certifications must be registered through the Saber platform for a fee of 500 Saudi Riyals (SR) per certificate. The cost of a certificate of conformity cannot, under any circumstances, be refunded once it has been paid, it is crucial to know.

Except for certificates that are identical to those issued by the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO), which are free to register, conformance certifications through the platform must be registered for 500 Saudi Riyals (SR) each certificate.
