What is the SASO SABER Certificate of Conformity?
Any imported items into Saudi Arabia must be accompanied by
the necessary export documentation, specifically a SASO Certificate of
Conformity, in order to pass through customs. The product in question has been
reviewed and confirmed to meet the quality and safety standards set by the
Saudi government, as attested to by this document, which attests to that fact.
For the exported goods, the SASO certification serves as a passport for customs
clearance. Even if a SASO has been issued, Saudi Arabian customs officials
reserve the right to test and inspect an imported commodity more thoroughly
once it has entered the country.

How to get a Saber certificate?
The Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization
oversees the Saudi Arabian Product Safety Program, known as “SALEEM” (SASO).
The SALEEM Saudi Arabia program, as its name suggests, is dedicated to ensuring
the quality of goods marketed in Saudi Arabia. “SALEEM” means “without risk or
harm to the user, the community, or the environment.” SALEEM uses the online
SABER Certificate Saudi Arabia system to make sure that all shipments and
products meet the requirements of the program.
Through its platform, SABER, also known as Saber
Certification Saudi Arabia, enables the electronic acquisition of the
Certificate of Conformity and Certificate of Shipment Conformity required for
the admission of domestically and internationally produced consumer goods into
the Saudi market. The hub’s goals are to protect businesses from fraud and make
sure that customers may buy products without being concerned about their
safety. Prior to bringing goods into the country after January 1, 2019, importers
must register the regulated commodities in SABER, choose one of the certifying
organisations permitted by SASO SABER Certificate, and enter SABER. SABER thus
provides two unique certificates to certify goods and transportation.

Customs Platform for SASO Saber Certificate
Importers, SASO-approved certification companies, Saudi
Customs, and other trade authorities are all connected in one place using SASO
SABER, an online verification tool. The Saudi government has developed this
programme to hasten the approval of incoming shipments, reduce the
counterfeiting of consumer goods, enhance product tracking, and boost the
availability of goods that meet the standards set by the Saudi Arabian
Standardization Organization (SASO). Saber has eliminated the need for
pre-shipment inspection and certification of compliance.
ISO 17065 Product Certification Bodies Accreditation
