SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate Body

If the items being sent are covered by a Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) technical regulation, a shipment certificate and a product certificate must be included with every shipment intended for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  The Saudi Arabian Standardization Organization (SASO) has established SABER, an electronic platform for conformity assessment, together with the Saudi Product Safety Program (SALEEM) launch.

What does the IECEE stand for?

The IECEE CB Scheme, a global system for the mutual recognition of test reports and certifications for electrical and electronic devices, is run by the International Electrotechnical Commission for Electrical Equipment (IECEE). Businesses may now obtain certification for their products more easily and across national borders thanks to this method.

These certificates attest to the satisfaction of the necessary criteria and technological constraints. In order to request and get both a product certificate and a shipment certificate for commodities that are subject to SASO technical regulations, the trade is strongly recommended by SASO to use this portal. The trade is also strongly advised to request and obtain a self-declaration as well as a shipment certificate for commodities that are not covered by any SASO technical regulations. In addition to other services aimed at helping companies satisfy the standards established in the Saudi Technical Regulations and the Saudi Standards, Markek offers IECEE Certificates to clients.

Depending on the kind of product you have, Markek might be able to help you in the following ways:

  • Carrying out the obligations of a certification body that is recognised by SASO in order to issue product certificates and handle shipment certificates for any item worldwide that is covered by a technical regulation.

  • The issuance of technical assessment reports for goods not covered by any technical regulations to support any assertions that they adhere to relevant Saudi standards.

The Saudi Product Safety Program, also known as SALEEM, was created by SASO as a component of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s national reform programmes for the years 2020 and 2030.

The SABER Platform was introduced in January 2019 to support the Saudi Product Safety Program for SASO Technical Regulations. There are two stages to the certification procedure for the Saudi Product Safety Program:

  • Product Certification

  • Shipment Certification of Regulated Products Exported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Certificate of SASO/IECEE Recognition for Multiple Model Numbers

As long as the items are included on the exact same IECEE CB Test Report and IECEE CB Certificate, it is permissible to certify several model numbers under the same SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate.

SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate for Multiple Importers

When a SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate is issued, it is registered and linked to one specific importer’s Commercial Registration (CR) number; this means only that importer can use it.
If you have three different importers of exactly the same product, each individual importer would require their own SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate, so three separate SASO IECEE Recognition Certificates must be applied for.

How to Get an SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate: First Product Evaluation

To acquire the SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate, the product must first undergo an initial examination to make sure it satisfies all requirements. In order to find any places where the product does not comply, this entails evaluating it against both Saudi and international standards.

Choosing an Approved Certification Organization
Selecting an approved certification body (CB) is the next step once the product assessment is finished. The product and its compliance paperwork will be thoroughly examined by this organization. To expedite the certification process, it is imperative to choose a CB that is accepted by the IECEE as well as the SASO.

Product Assessment and Testing
After that, the product will undergo thorough testing and review by the certifying authority. In order to make sure the product satisfies all applicable requirements, this process entails assessing its performance, safety, and environmental impact. To ensure uniformity and dependability, the tests are carried out in accordance with the directives provided by the IECEE CB Scheme.

Delivery of Documentation
The business needs to provide the certification authority with thorough documentation following testing and evaluation that is successful. Technical specifications, compliance certificates, and test reports are commonly included in this material. To prevent delays in the certification process, accurate and comprehensive paperwork is essential.

Getting the Certificate Issued
The certification organization will issue the SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate upon evaluation and approval of the documentation. This certificate needs to be renewed on a regular basis in order to stay in compliance within its allotted time.
