Repeat Exports
Built for Regular Shipments
Global Market Access Federal Iraq
Route B lets regular exporters register a regulated product for Federal Iraq before repeat shipments. Once a Statement of Registration (SoR) is granted, later consignments can use selective inspection and random testing rather than repeating the complete initial product assessment every time.

At a Glance
Route B Product Registration is the facilitation route for regular exporters of products covered by Federal Iraq’s VoC program. The product is assessed and registered before repeat trade begins. Once the Statement of Registration (SoR) is issued, it can support multiple shipments for one year, while later consignments use selective inspection and random testing before their individual Certificates of Conformity are issued.
Overview
Federal Iraq’s Verification of Conformity program provides Route B Registration as a facilitation option for exporters making regular shipments of the same regulated product.
Each shipment starts without standing product registration and is assessed as a consignment.
The product undergoes a registration assessment. The manufacturer or exporter demonstrates conformity with the applicable Iraqi technical regulation, Iraqi standard, or an accepted international standard where relevant.
Once the required level of conformity is demonstrated, a Statement of Registration (SoR) is granted. It can support repeat shipments because part of the product assessment has already been completed, allowing later consignments to follow a more streamlined monitoring route.
Who Needs It
Route B is generally worth considering when:

Process
Confirm that the product falls within the Federal Iraq VoC program and that repeat exports make registration appropriate.
Identify the relevant Iraqi standard, technical regulation, or accepted technical basis for the product.
Prepare product specifications, manufacturer and exporter information, test data, certificates, and other evidence of conformity.
The conformity assessment body considers inspection and testing history, documentary controls, and the system used to maintain product conformity. Additional testing or verification may be required if the available evidence is insufficient.
Registration output
Once the required level of conformity is demonstrated, the Statement of Registration (SoR) is issued. Current program guidance states that it can support multiple shipments for one year from its issue date.
For each later consignment, the exporter applies for a shipment CoC using the valid SoR and the shipment documents.
Registered products remain subject to monitoring. Shipments can be selectively inspected, and products can be selected for random testing.
Shipment output
After successful shipment verification, the Certificate of Conformity is issued for that consignment.
Documentation
The exact file depends on the product, but the registration assessment can include:
Bureau Veritas notes that Route B registration can consider conformity history, test reports, certificates, testing and inspection results, factory-audit information, and quality-management arrangements when assessing the registration file.
You will still need the normal shipment file, including items such as:
After the SoR
No. Route B is a facilitation route, not an exemption from conformity control.
Current Iraq program guidance states that registered products can undergo:
The SoR reduces the documentation and product assessment that must be repeated because the product has already been registered.
Every regulated shipment still requires its own Certificate of Conformity.
Validity
Current Iraq program guidance states that Route B registration is valid for one year from the date of issue.
Before relying on the registration throughout that period, manufacturers should keep the registered product information consistent. Changes that may need review include:
Planning
There is no single timeline for every registration.
Timing depends mainly on:
A well-prepared existing compliance file can make registration assessment more straightforward than starting with incomplete evidence.
Typical cost drivers include:
Assess Route B on the total compliance workload across repeat shipments, not simply the initial registration cost.
Common Mistakes
Route B is designed for regular exports; Route A may be more practical for occasional trade.
Every regulated shipment still requires a Certificate of Conformity.
The SoR applies to the registered product information, not automatically to every related variant.
Poor test documentation can slow the registration review or trigger additional testing.
Material changes can affect whether the existing SoR remains appropriate.
Registration validity is one year, so ongoing exporters need to plan renewal.
Registered shipments remain subject to selective inspection and monitoring.
Model, manufacturer, product, and shipment data should stay aligned.
Markek Support
We confirm that the product is within the Federal Iraq VoC program, assess whether Route B makes sense for the planned shipment pattern, and define the products and models to be registered.
We review existing test evidence, identify gaps, organize the registration documentation, and coordinate the Route B assessment with the applicable COSQC-authorized conformity assessment body.
Once the SoR is issued, we support subsequent CoC applications, selective inspection requirements, shipment-document alignment, and registration renewal or product-change reviews.
Route B is the Federal Iraq VoC facilitation route for frequent exporters. A compliant product is registered before repeat shipments, and a Statement of Registration is issued.
It is designed for manufacturers and exporters who regularly ship the same regulated product to Iraq. Occasional exporters can continue using Route A.
Current Iraq program guidance states that Route B registration is valid for one year from the date of issue.
No. A CoC is still required for every regulated shipment. The SoR supports a streamlined assessment behind later shipment certificates.
No. Initial conformity evidence is required for registration, and registered products remain subject to random testing as part of ongoing monitoring.
No. Subsequent shipments can undergo selective inspection rather than the standard Route A assessment pattern.
The SoR is the evidence of completion of the Route B registration evaluation. A valid SoR is required when applying for CoCs for additional shipments.
Yes. Program guidance now allows for a valid Route B registration to cover multiple shipments within its one-year validity period.
Modifications to model details, specifications, manufacturing information, standards, or any other information registered must be verified before the use of the existing SoR on subsequent shipments.
Not necessarily. Route B adds an upfront registration assessment and makes the most sense when that effort can be spread across regular repeat shipments. For a one-off export, Route A may still be the better option.
